You come to Finding My Fitness looking for help with weight loss, slow-carb/paleo/4hb questions, and recipes – but there’s a lot to pick through. I thought it would be helpful to put together a list, all in one place, categorized in a way that makes sense, of the different things you’d be looking for help with. I’ll add more as I find it, so come back here often!
If you can’t find something here that you were looking for, please let me know and I’ll add it as soon as I can!
These are all books that deal with weight loss, fitness, or nutrition. There is so much knowledge here, it’s not even funny.
The Paleo Solution – After reading The 4-Hour Body, I had a lot of questions about why certain things worked or didn’t. The Paleo Solution provides a lot of those answers, and Robb Wolf has even been on Tim Ferriss’ blog. Not as thick, but really meaty.
Primal Blueprint Quick & Easy Meals – Mark Sisson put together a couple really nice cookbooks that are Paleo, but they are full of slow-carb recipes as well. Whenever we want something new, we crack the book to see what it’s got.
The Primal Blueprint Cookbook – This is Mark’s other cookbook. Hundreds of recipes at your fingertips.
Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It
– Gary Taubes uncovers and explains a lot of the bad science that’s gotten Americans as obese as we are.
4 Hour Body subreddit – The best place online for as much slow-carb information/discussion as you can handle. The community is great.
MaxCapacityTraining.com – This is where my workouts generally come from. All body-weight, all planned for you. All you have to do is show up.
My Slow-Carb Meal Planner – A great way to outsource your meal planning. 6 unique dinners and 3 unique breakfast ideas per week!
Low Carb Cabana – a go-to source for low-carb high protein foods, as well as a full line of pharmaceutical grade vitamins & supplements. Use LCC525 for 25% off your first order.
Kettlebell – If you have one piece of exercise equipment, it should be a kettlebell. It’s incredibly useful for so many different things.
PAGG – I take the PAGG stack created by Pareto Nutrition. They formulated it specifically to line up with Tim’s recommendations in the book. Read more about PAGG here.
Web Tools – For the other webgeeks out there
Just in case some of you are wondering what keeps FMF available, here are a few links to the things I use.
WordPress – The site is based off of WordPress, and I do it self-hosted.
The Genesis Framework – The framework upon which the site is built. Out-of-the-box SEO benefits, awesome support, and gorgeous child themes to put on top (or you can even get free ones that look good too).
1and1 Hosting – My awesome host! I mean, I don’t own it, but they’re my favorite.
