Introducing the Slow-Carb Meal Planner

The Slow-Carb Meal PlannerFrustrated with all of the “rules” of slow-carb? Never sure you’re eating the right foods? Wonder if a certain food is slow-carb friendly?

There’s so much to worry about, so much you don’t know! Can’t it be easier?

Sure can. Let me show you how you’ll never have to worry about whether or not you’re eating the right thing again.

I don’t need to see more, I just want to get my slow-carb meals planned!

Meal planning is critical to success on any type of diet, but it takes time. You have to sit down and actually think about what you’re going to eat for an entire week, and then you have to write up a shopping list. For busy people like you, it’s tough to take that time.

There are two other things people often are concerned with when on the slow-carb diet:

  1. They don’t want to eat the same thing every day. It gets boring.
  2. They’re afraid to branch out, and because the food list in the book is so small they think it’s too restrictive.

Those are the three main reasons I created the slow-carb meal planner. You’ve seen the extensive food list that I put together (and now you know why I put so much time and research into a list so large), so you know it’s not a restrictive diet.

You also know that there are literally thousands of meal combinations that can be put together so you never have to eat the same thing twice if you don’t want to.

And now you don’t have to worry about the time it takes to plan either. I’ve taken all of those things and wrapped them up in a nice package, just for you.

Update: I got this awesome, totally unsolicited email from Kenda the other day:

I have been on your mailing list for awhile and am SO glad you have made the Slow-Carb Planner live and available to people like me.

The Slow-Carb Planner is EXACTLY what I need.

Might the slow-carb planner be exactly what YOU need?

Here’s another great piece of feedback I got:

These meals are awesome.
Already made this week’s breakfast hash and it’s a nice change. – F.C.

What’s included?

By now you probably have a pretty good idea what you’ll be getting as a charter member of the slow-carb planner.

  • A menu sent to you once a week, designed to give you 6 days of totally slow-carb meals.
  • A weekly shopping list so you can get everything you need in one trip.
  • 24 hour email support – I’m available by email, and I’ll respond within 24 hours.
  • Emotional support by email – I’m here for you!

There are 6 unique dinners each week, and up to 6 unique lunches. Most people are too busy to prepare separate lunches, and taking leftovers or making a new lunch from leftovers is the way they’re planned (with a couple exceptions).

Each week also contains at least 3 breakfasts. Most of us are too busy to get super fancy with breakfast, and the recipes I provide generally allow you to prepare several portions up front and reheat them when you’re ready. The rest usually can be prepared quickly, and the fancy ones are ideal for the weekend.

I’ve been cooking breakfast and dinner exclusively from your recipes this week — Buffalo Chicken Egg Muffins, Nepali Chicken, Mexi Meatloaf … all great so far!
Nice work on this! 🙂 – N.T.

  1. You should accept pay pal

    • Yes, that’s something I wanted to do – Paypal and the membership software I’m using (for now) weren’t working very well together. I’m looking at other payment systems at the moment to switch to.

I can take Paypal and process it manually, though. If you’d like to do that, let me know!

Jason, the shopping list is vital to me. I need the menu the recipes and the shopping list that ties them together. So far I see the menu and the recipes but no shopping list. HELP

    • Hi Eve,

The shopping list is in the PDF, which has a download link in the email as well as one at the top of the post. I didn’t put it on the post itself because I didn’t want the page to get too long.

  3. Love the idea and the effort you have appeared to have put into this project on the back of the interest around Tim Ferriss’ 4 hour body. I would be interested in making use of your planner, but if I paid for a subscription would I be getting the planner month by month, or, is everything available to seed from the start?

    • Hey Clayton,

Good question. You’d actually get new menus every week with shopping lists. So not month to month, but not everything all at once either. But you also have access to everything you’ve already gotten as you go through. So in month 3, you still have everything from week 1 at your fingertips if you ever wanted to go back.

  4. Great idea and service!! I am limited on certain foods that I can/will eat. Are the meal plans customized to what foods a person likes? Can we say something like “no fish for lunch”, “no tilapia”, etc. Thank you and good luck!! I’ll share with others to join you!!

    • Hi Yesi,

At the moment I don’t have customizable plans like that, but it’s something I want to implement in the future. I’m still creating each menu by hand, and there’s no way I could do one for everyone every week. 🙂

Each week there are 3 breakfast ideas to choose from, and there are generally 2 beef, 2 chicken, a fish, and a pork option. So while it’s not customized, it’s pretty varied.

Thanks for the question, suggestion, and support!

  5. Do you have a slow carb meal plan for vegetarians? I’ve done the slow carb diet before but it gets difficult after a few weeks bc my only protein option besides legumes are eggs….

    • Hey Laura,

Unfortunately at the moment I don’t have one for vegetarians. It’s something I’d like to be able to provide eventually, though.

  6. Hello, I signed up for the meal program but haven’t recieved anything yet in my email. Please help!

    • Hey there Alicia,

My mail service (Mailchimp) is showing that the emails are bouncing. Looks like your email address was spelled wrong (it says yhaoo!). I’ll get it sorted!

  7. Hi Jason,
I am down to my ideal weight. Now what??? How do I maintain? I also want to clarify cheat day (my fav). You can have anything an everything you want?????? I hope so, because that is what I have been doing. Im about 4 pounds up the next day and back down in about 4 days. Im talking pizza, french fries, candy, orange chicken from panda express and a entire (1.5 qt) half the fat ice cream. I had that on this last cheat day. LOL. Would love your feedback.

    • Lisa, that’s awesome! To maintain, just keep eating right! Don’t go back to your former ways. Keep cheat day on cheat day, and eat right otherwise. You can up more starchy vegetables, like more sweet potatoes and such. Take a look at my fairly exhaustive food list at the veggie column to see the kinds I’m talking about. You can probably also eat a piece of fruit here and there as well.

I’ll be sending you an email shortly. I want to talk to you more about this! 🙂

Cheat days – yes, eat whatever the heck you want! Everything you said is totally fine if you want to keep following 4HB. Like I said, though, keep your cheats on cheat day. 😉

      Really well done!

  8. Hey.

Jason you are a boss! Thanks for all the guidance. I was wondering if you would consider beetroot to be a slow carb option? I know it is crazy good for you and I don’t want to give it up, but will do so if necessary.

    • I probably wouldn’t balk at beet root if it’s not all you’re eating, but I might not eat legumes when I eat it. If you start to stall and your diet is clean aside from the beets, maybe start by taking them out.

  9. I really am lucky to come across your article, i actually checked your food list link you gave above and i am happy i took time to read the column, so much information for free, i will definitely bookmark this site for future reference

  10. Hi, do you do any special diet considerations? I’m allergic to Dairy (shouldn’t be a problem) and I’m supposed to avoid eggs where possible. This renders a lot of the recipes useless for me and always presents a problem since eggs seem to be the backbone of slow carb for a lot of people.

    • Hey Brian,

Not specifically, no. It’s not a custom meal planner, other than it’s just for slow-carbers. Mainly only the breakfast recipes have eggs, but you can either ignore eggs where possible. That’ll eliminate quite a few of them, but I do have several where eggs isn’t a major ingredient.

  11. Hi Jason
I’m currently in research phase and noticed that you still haven’t replied to the post from January 1, 2017. Are you still offering this service?

    • Hi Therese,

I’m sorry – I didn’t see your message on Jan 1! Yes, the service is still there, and it’s actively being used by about a hundred slow carbers. 🙂

  12. Sorry about the double up of comments. Couldn’t see my original post so sent another one…..that’s when the first one showed up.
